IR transmitter and IR receiver 12.8 x 7 x 8.8 mm.An IR light barrier consists of a transmitter that emits invisible IR (infrared) light and a receiver that registers this light. If the light barrier is interrupted, the receiver evaluates this. Since light barriers operate with very low currents, they can only be used in conjunction with products that have the required receiving electronics (e.g., Busch timer 5963 or electronic relay 5740). Since the light barriers operate without contact, they offer maximum reliability with an almost unlimited service life.
