WIKING 008004 - Opel Ascona B - signal yellow

WIKING 008004 - Opel Ascona B - signal yellowModel InformationThe Rüsselsheim-based automaker knew what they owed to Opel's excellent reputation and focused on sporty versions of the Ascona B early on. What had already become a widespread family sedan could quickly achieve a more image-conscious look by foregoing chrome trim and favoring black components. The Ascona B gained increasing popularity among motorsport enthusiasts in the second half of the 1970s – the matte black, rally-style hood design was signal enough. From its launch in 1975 until the introduction of its successor, the Ascona B became Opel's highest-producing model at the time. It's no wonder, then, that a total of 1,512,971 units, including the Vauxhall version, rolled off the assembly line. At WIKING, the Ascona B is transformed into a pristine youngtimer.Model DetailsBody: signal yellow, chassis: black, interior with steering wheel: black-gray. WIKING 036003 - Police - Unimog S 404Prototype InformationSpecialized vehicles were frequently used in the almost militarily organized riot police units of the first post-war decade. Among them was the Unimog S 404, procured as a special-purpose vehicle and in service for many years. When all else failed, the Unimog S 404 dutifully marched to the front. For years, the Unimog S 404 was one of the reliable vehicles used by the police, fire department, and disaster relief – the off-road capability of the high-revving gasoline engine remains legendary to this day.Model DetailsCab and body in fir green. WIKING 082148 - Ford Taunus 12M - water blue

WIKING 082148 - Ford Taunus 12M - water blueModel InformationWater-blue paint, plus plenty of chrome – that was popular for the globe-shaped Ford in the 1950s. The Ford Taunus 12M, better known as the "Globe Taunus," is considered one of the milestones of German automotive history and was the first completely redesigned Ford model after World War II. When the car was launched in 1952, it was a sensation. It replaced the outdated "humpback Taunus" and introduced the modern pontoon body with smooth side panels to Ford Germany. It got its nickname from the distinctive emblem on the front: A small plastic globe sat centrally above the radiator grille and symbolized the global ambitions of the Ford Group. That's how car owners of the 1950s liked it!Model DetailsBody water-blue, chassis painted aluminum silver. Interior papyrus white. Door handles and trim strips silvered. Front window surrounds with wipers are silvered. Rear door lock and "12m" lettering are silvered. Taillights are printed in carmine red. Turn signals are printed in orange. WIKING 117002 - Police - Forklift

WIKING 117002 - Police - ForkliftPrototype InformationThe riot police were somewhat self-sufficient when it came to handling transport tasks. In many German states, forklifts were part of the fleet from an early stage, serving as helpful specialized vehicles, and they rarely left police premises. WIKING used the Esslingen forklift from the 1960s as its model. It had already undergone the paint change from dark fir green to the light service green of the 1990s.Model DetailsMain body with chassis and lifting frame in mint green. WIKING 117102 - Forklift (Clark) - red

WIKING 117102 - Forklift (Clark) - redPrototype InformationIts licensed home was the Ruhr region, its destination the transport depots of the young Federal Republic of Germany. This was the plan of Clark's US owners when they followed the Allied forces from the USA to Germany after the war. Model maker Alfred Kedzierski created the Clark forklift in 1:25 scale in the early 1950s. Some 65 years later, this has been transformed into a delicate 1:87 scale forklift, reminiscent of the lifting equipment generation of the post-war years. Sometimes, little thought is needed, as WIKING itself built the most beautiful prototypes. This forklift also features a tilting mast with movable forks. Furthermore, a separate seat and a new steering wheel with attached console have been added.Model DetailsBody and chassis, as well as mast and forks, are red. WIKING 012504 - DKW Coupé - elfenbeinbeige

WIKING 012504 - DKW Coupé - elfenbeinbeigePrototype InformationA subtle contrast is perfectly acceptable: WIKING has miniaturized the DKW 1000 coupé in a glossy ivory beige paint finish with a white roof. Color choices like this were popular at the time and frequently appeared on the order list for the two-stroke engine. From 1958 to 1963, Auto Union produced over 171,000 sedans of the Auto Union 1000 type, including the coupé variant. WIKING only offered the DKW coupé from 1960 to 1964. Given its aesthetically pleasing model, it certainly deserved a longer run. This is now being rectified with the two-tone design.Model DetailsIvory beige body with a white printed roof in a clear coat finish, silver chassis with bumpers. The radiator grille with Audi rings, as well as the rear hood handle with Audi rings and the "1000" model designation, fuel filler cap, and trunk hinges are silvered. Side door handles and trim are printed in silver. Rear taillights are red. Hand-painted silver rims with whitewall printing on the tires. WIKING 034506 - Flatbed truck (Hanomag L 28) "Spedition Klein-Wiele"

WIKING 034506 - Flatbed truck (Hanomag L 28) "Spedition Klein-Wiele"Model InformationThe post-war period of the 1950s marked a new beginning for the Klein-Wiele freight forwarding company in Bocholt, in the Münsterland region. With considerable personal commitment and a manageable fleet, the company began offering regional freight transport – often under simple conditions and with basic vehicles. During this time, Klein-Wiele laid the foundation for its reputation as a reliable partner in the transport industry. As the company grew, new vehicles were added, resulting in a diverse fleet. This included the Hanomag L 28, which is featured in the model series in a contemporary design. The Hanomag L 28 was a perfect fit for Klein-Wiele, as it was the first small truck that the Hanover-based automaker had introduced to the market as a typical "fast truck." Presented at the Brussels Motor Show in 1950, the cab-over-engine truck made a visually striking impression with its wide front and integrated headlights, and bore a certain resemblance to the Opel Blitz long-hood truck introduced two years later. Initially designed for a 1.5-ton payload, later versions with up to three tons of payload followed – the diesel engines initially produced 50 hp, later 65 and 70 hp.Model DetailsCab and flatbed in reseda green, interior, steering wheel, chassis, and driveshaft in beige-brown. Just like in real life, the long chassis receives the typical camper body, making it perfectly suited for the job. WIKING 041605 - Flachpritschen-Lkw (MAN Pausbacke) - silver gray

WIKING 041605 - Flachpritschen-Lkw (MAN Pausbacke) - silver grayPrototype InformationThe first large generation of MAN cab-over trucks was highly valued by transport companies because of its maneuverability and versatility. WIKING has chosen the flatbed body this time, equipping the legendary "Pausbacke" (Chubby Cheeks) as a versatile transport expert. The contemporary design of the typical purple-red MAN radiator grille with its silver lettering and frame defines the silver-gray front of the "Pausbacke," which is further enhanced by fine decorative trim. The MAN "Pausbacke" has become one of the most famous classic trucks of the German post-war era. Its nickname is now more common than the actual model designations. This affectionate nickname is a result of the first generation of MAN cab-over trucks' distinctive design. The bulges of the front section below the headlights and the rounded shape of the cab reminded onlookers of puffed-out cheeks.Model DetailsCab, flatbed, and rear fenders in silver-gray; crimson radiator grille with silver frame and "MAN" and "Diesel" lettering. WIKING 043121 - Flatbed truck (MB LP 814) - turquoise

WIKING 043121 - Flatbed truck (MB LP 814) - turquoisePrototype InformationIt's back! The Mercedes-Benz 814 was one of WIKING's newcomers four decades ago. Its real-life counterpart defined the so-called light class (LK), which Daimler-Benz produced from 1984 to 1998. This series, internally designated LN2, replaced the older LP models and introduced a completely new design to the market. The goal was to bring modern technology and greater comfort to the light truck classes. The 814 was the most popular model in the series and was primarily used as a 7.5-ton truck in freight forwarding operations – often in the turquoise paint scheme that WIKING had miniaturized and which was available from the factory at the time. The cab design was modern and streamlined, distinguished by its characteristically slanted window line. The Mercedes-Benz 814 was used for a wide variety of tasks in the 1980s and 1990s, primarily for classic distribution transport. The era of the LK series ended in 1998 when the Mercedes-Benz Atego succeeded it, ushering in the next generation of light trucks.Model DetailsCab and flatbed in turquoise. WIKING 044702 - Flatbed Trailer - Moss GreenPrototype InformationWIKING presents the three-axle flatbed trailer in new molds – it will find a wide variety of uses. The prototype of the three-axle flatbed trailer without sideboards was specially designed as a transport trailer because of its unique design and great versatility. Its construction is geared towards maximum loading area and stability, which, with three axles, allows for even weight distribution and high load capacity. The loading area is designed as a flatbed, so bulky or oversized goods can be loaded without any problems. Without sideboards, goods such as machinery, vehicles, steel beams, or other oversized loads can be easily loaded and secured. The three axles ensure a high payload and stable road handling, even with heavy or unevenly distributed loads.Model DetailsFlatbed moss green. WIKING 114003 - Self-build garage (3S) - pale brown/ivoryPrototype InformationIntroduced as a kit by WIKING in 1967, it returns 55 years later as a ready-made model. Around 60,000 of these garage models were ordered by the 3S garage manufacturer alone after the 1:87 scale introduction in 1967, and they also offered them in their own garage catalog. And indeed: For every "large" garage, there was a "small" garage for the children. As a kit, it was a truly appealing gift that was very well received everywhere, the manufacturer fondly recalls. In 1971, the garage disappeared from the WIKING product line. This also marked the end of the extensive accessory program that WIKING founder Fritz Peltzer had maintained until then. The self-assembly garage was indeed based on the original prototype. The original has a footprint of three by six meters and can, of course, also be built as a row garage.Model DetailsSide panels and roof ivory, base plate and garage door pale brown.Detailed scale model for adult collectors. WIKING 116004 - Electric cart with trailers - green-blue

WIKING 116004 - Electric cart with trailers - green-bluePrototype InformationFor WIKING founder Fritz Peltzer, it was meant to have a practical use, but then it became love at first sight. Model railroaders have embraced the electric cart for decades. Hardly any other WIKING model was as widespread on German model railways as the Still electric cart on the platforms of the former German Federal Railway. This was also due to its intricate model-making. The Still electric cart was in use at the DB (German Federal Railway) and in industrial plants back then – with two trailers, the three-part set looks just as authentic today as WIKING enthusiasts appreciated it back in the 1960s. Undoubtedly, the Still electric cart is one of the quiet but unforgettable classics in 1:87 scale, which can still be assured of quiet adoration among collectors today. WIKING has revitalized the designs and given the tractor unit two trailers.Model Details Tractor unit upper and lower sections in green-blue, trailer chassis with turntables in green-blue, gray flatbeds with a plank look glued on. WIKING 1171 01 - Clark Forklift 117101
WIKING 117101 - Forklift (Clark) - pale green

WIKING 117101 - Forklift (Clark) - pale greenPrototype InformationWIKING itself provided the prototype – its story was written in the post-war years: When the Allies spearheaded the reconstruction of the country, they brought along American industry as economic aid. Among them was the US manufacturer Clark, which produced the urgently needed forklifts under license in the Ruhr region and successfully sold them with the support of a WIKING promotional model. Model maker Alfred Kedzierski created the Clark forklift in 1:25 scale at the beginning of the 1950s. Some 65 years later, this was transformed into a filigree forklift in 1:87 scale, reminiscent of the lifting equipment generation of the post-war years. Sometimes, little thought is needed, because WIKING itself built the most beautiful prototypes. Only WIKING can achieve such a rich brand history and continuity in model making. Now the model appears in 1:87 scale with the same perfection, after the designers scaled down the 1:25 scale model and meticulously incorporated all the functions. The chassis and superstructure appear remarkably compact in the 1:87 scale. This time, the forklift also features a tilting mast with movable forks. In addition, a separate seat and a new steering wheel with an attached console have been added.Model DetailsBody and chassis, mast, and forks are pale green. Steering wheel, seat, and tires are black. White decorative stripes run around the perimeter, and the Clark logo is white on the rear. White Clark lettering is on the sides of the mast.
