Rivarossi
Rivarossi is one of the most traditional manufacturers in the model railway sector – founded in 1945 by Alessandro Rossi in Como, Italy. Since the 1950s, the brand has developed into an international premium supplier of HO scale models, known for their fine detailing and high-quality technical execution. In the following decades, Rivarossi grew through the acquisition of important brands such as Lima, Jouef, and Arnold, which strengthened its product range throughout Europe. After experiencing economic difficulties, Rivarossi became part of the British Hornby Group in 2004, which modernized production and further developed the product range technically – including CAN motors, LED lighting, DCC interfaces, fine engravings, and high-quality drives. Rivarossi offers an extensive portfolio for H0 model railroaders – including: Steam locomotives: From iconic US giants like the 2-6-6-6 to European classics. Electric & Diesel locomotives from Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the USA – highly detailed and often with exact prototype liveries. Freight cars & passenger cars: realistic printing, prototypical running numbers, and high-quality bogies. US models & classics: In the 1950s–70s, Rivarossi significantly shaped the American HO market through partnerships with Lionel, Athearn, and AHM.
Technically modernized models: Smooth running, precise motor control, DCC-ready or DCC-sound depending on the model.
