LGB L26662 - Railcar FZe 6/6 Era II
Model Details
MOB baggage railcar FZe 6/6 in metal construction. In the 1930s, suitable locomotives for the steep lines of the MOB were sought for the "Golden Mountain Pullman Express," which was to be operated by the CIWL. It was decided to acquire two electric railcars with baggage compartments. They had a power output of more than 1100 hp and were manufactured by SIG/BBC. In 1932/1933, the two vehicles were incorporated into the MOB fleet under the class designation FZe 6/6 with the operating numbers 2001 and 2002. These six-axle Bo'Bo'Bo' railcars had a length over buffers of 17 meters and a top speed of 60 km/h. At the time, they were among the most powerful electric locomotives operating on meter gauge tracks in the world! The two electric railcars were originally intended to haul luxury trains, but were rarely used for this purpose, as demand for luxury trains plummeted following the Great Depression around 1930. Consequently, the MOB (Montreux-Oberland Bernois Railway) repurposed the two railcars for freight service. Over the years, the two vehicles underwent several reclassifications and modifications. They proved particularly valuable during the construction of the Hongrin Dam in the late 1960s, transporting the necessary cement from Montreux to Allières. In the late 1980s, railcar 2001 was completely disassembled and was slated for restoration to its original condition. Parts of the railcar were refurbished in Montbovon. Parts from 2001 were used to restore railcar 2002 to working order. A high-end 1:22.5 scale model of this articulated railcar is now being produced in metal. Like our other high-end models, this one boasts a very high level of detail. The paint scheme and lettering reflect Era II. It carries the MOB's road number 2001. The pantographs and roof-mounted equipment are period-correct. The paint scheme and lettering of the FZe 6/6 2001 accurately reflect its condition upon delivery from SIG/BBC and its entry into service with the MOB around 1933, as are the pantographs and roof-mounted equipment. An mfx/DCC sound decoder with various light and sound functions, such as Swiss headlight configuration, cab and interior lighting, digitally raised and lowered pantographs, and much more, ensures a high level of play value when operating this 76 cm long model, which can also easily negotiate radius R1 curves. Matching coaches L36660 and L36661 are available. A detailed, true-to-scale model for adult collectors. Handle with care. Not suitable for children under 14 years. It contains small parts which may pose a choking hazard, and some components have functional sharp points. Only a toy transformer manufactured according to VDE 0570-2-7/DIN EN 61558-2-7 may be used as a power source to operate this product.
