This gigantic and world-famous machine is more than just a locomotive. It represents the golden age of railroading and is a symbol of the inventive and pioneering spirit of the United States of America, which celebrated its independence 250 years ago. Nothing is impossible in the land of unlimited opportunities, and the Big Boy is truly an example of the unwavering self-confidence of Americans. However, the UP will not be presenting a golden Big Boy for the grand Independence Day celebrations. That honor belongs to Märklin – with an exceptionally elegant Big Boy 4000 in H0 scale, coated with 24-karat fine gold. Strictly limited, this impressive model is a visual and extremely valuable gem.

Model: Smokebox door, boiler top, tender body, driving wheelsets, running wheelsets, connecting rods, and various detail parts made of metal and coated with 24-karat fine gold. Equipped with an mfx+ digital decoder and extensive sound functions. Controlled high-efficiency propulsion. 2 axles driven, 6 axles driven via coupling rods. Traction tires. Articulated chassis for smooth curve negotiation. Boxpok wheels. Center coupled axles are sprung. Headlights, tender, and number plates illuminated with maintenance-free warm white LEDs. Two smoke generators (7226) can be retrofitted; contacts are always ready for operation. Headlights and number plate lighting operate conventionally and can be switched digitally. Cab lighting can be switched digitally. Coupler hooks can be inserted into the cowcatcher at the front. Close coupling between locomotive and tender. Steam pipes swivel with the cylinders. Metal grab irons. Many separately applied details. Driver and fireman figures for the cab are included. The Big Boy comes in exclusive packaging with a certificate of authenticity. Both the locomotive and the certificate are numbered. A pair of white cotton gloves and a booklet about the model's development are included. A 24-karat gold-plated pickup shoe is also included to replace the standard-fitted pickup shoe. Length over couplings approx. 46.5 cm. Operating Instructions: The locomotive can be used on curved track with a radius of 360 mm or greater; however, we recommend larger radii. Due to the overhang of the long boiler, signals, overhead line masts, bridge railings, tunnel portals, etc., must maintain sufficient clearance from the track curve. The track must be securely fastened to support the locomotive's weight. The turntable and transfer table can only be traversed in the through position. Products bearing the Union Pacific name are made under trademark license from the Union Pacific Railroad Company.
