ESU

ESU
ESU – Electronic Solutions Ulm GmbH & Co. KG is a renowned German manufacturer of digital model railway technology, headquartered in Ulm/Neu-Ulm. The company was founded in 1996 and is now one of the technological pioneers in the field of digital and sound decoders for model railways. ESU gained international recognition with the introduction of the LokSound decoder in 1999. As one of the first decoders, LokSound enabled the playback of originally recorded sounds, which were individually interchangeable – a milestone for realistic model railway experiences. Since then, ESU LokSound decoders have been considered the benchmark for authentic sound quality and dynamic sound adaptation to driving conditions and load. The range is complemented by the LokPilot decoders, which stand for excellent driving characteristics, sensitive motor control, and a wide variety of protocols. ESU decoders support common standards such as DCC, Motorola®, Selectrix, and mfx® (M4) and are RailCom-enabled. Thanks to numerous designs (PluX, 21MTC, Next18, Micro-Decoder), they are suitable for almost all track gauges from N to G. In addition to decoders, ESU offers powerful digital control units such as the ECoS, radio and app-based handheld controllers, feedback and switching modules, as well as suitable accessories such as speakers, power packs, and programmers. Many well-known model railway manufacturers also use ESU technology as standard equipment or in the OEM sector. A special quality feature is the continuous development: Free firmware updates, a large selection of sound projects, and a high level of vertical integration ensure that ESU products remain future-proof in the long term. ESU thus targets both ambitious model railway enthusiasts and professional users who demand the highest standards of technology, realism, and reliability.
