ESU – Electronic Solutions Ulm GmbH & Co. KG is a renowned German manufacturer of digital model railway technology, headquartered in Ulm/Neu-Ulm. The company was founded in 1996 and is now one of the technological pioneers in the field of digital and sound decoders for model railways. ESU gained international recognition with the introduction of the LokSound decoder in 1999. As one of the first decoders, LokSound enabled the playback of originally recorded sounds, which were individually interchangeable – a milestone for realistic model railway experiences.
