Mehano

Mehano (founded in 1952 as Mehanotehnika in Izola) is a long-established European manufacturer of model railways and toys – operating under its current name since 1990. The portfolio includes locomotives, multiple units, carriages, and starter sets in H0, TT, and N scales, ranging from entry-level sets to highly detailed DCC/sound models. Mehano gained international recognition through, among other things... with models of modern high-speed trains (TGV/Thalys/ICE) as well as distinctive diesel locomotives such as Blue Tiger, Vossloh G series or Class 66 – some in several quality lines (Train Line, Hobby Line, Prestige) and with options for two-rail DC as well as Märklin-compatible AC versions. Following economic difficulties (restructuring in 2008), Mehano was restructured in 2010. The brand has since resumed offering trains and sets (including 'My First Train') and is available in specialist shops – in Germany, among others, through distribution via Lemke. Currently popular models include the Vossloh G1000 BB and SNCF BB 37000 in various liveries – with/without digital sound. Three product lines: Train Line (entry-level), Hobby Line, Prestige (top-of-the-line equipment including DCC/Sound/LED).
