Trans Press
transpress has stood for high-quality specialist literature on railways and model railways in German-speaking countries for decades. The publishing house was founded in 1960 in Berlin as transpress VEB Verlag für Verkehrswesen and published engineering and transport titles on rail, road, air and water – supplemented by model railway and popular science series. In 1991, the Paul Pietsch publishing house took over the traditional company and has continued to run transpress to this day with a clear focus on railway and model railway topics. The current program ranges from illustrated books and historical reports to technical and locomotive series profiles, model railway guides, and calendars. Typical transpress focus areas include, among others... Locomotive and railcar encyclopedia, Railway history, Signal and vehicle technology, Travelogues and Regional focus areas (e.g. Harz Mountains, Spreewald Forest, Norway, DB/DR/BB/SBB). This is evidenced by numerous current and available titles in specialist shops.
Model railroaders will also find practical content: From Building, painting, setting up to Digitization and Prototype research, transpress provides application-oriented guides and photo templates – ideal for period-appropriate design and vehicle selection.
