Model Details
New for 2026: True-to-prototype BR 216 diesel locomotive for N gauge model railways, Era IV. With the BR 216 in blue/beige DB livery, PIKO brings an iconic diesel locomotive of Era IV to N gauge layouts. Built from 1964 onwards, the Class 216 was a single-engine heavy diesel locomotive for medium-duty service on the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn). The 214 locomotives were equipped with 1,400 kW MTU engines, reached speeds of 120 km/h, and were suitable for express and passenger trains, as well as freight trains thanks to their slow-speed capability. The model impresses with its high level of detail, excellent running characteristics, and modern technology for easy digitization. Suitable for N gauge | True-to-prototype molding with precise engravings | Directional LED headlights (white/red) | Next18 interface for easy decoder retrofitting | Included detail parts for prototypical design of the buffer beam.Detailed scale model for adult collectors.
