Model Details
New for 2026: Variant of the DB AG BR 798 railbus in mint green livery from Era V. With the models of the legendary VT 98/VS 98 railbus of the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn), PIKO offers a vehicle perfectly suited for use on model railway main and branch lines, featuring many highlights. The railcar is powered by a strong miniature motor, equipped with flywheels for smooth running, and has a factory-installed buffer capacitor for optimal performance without sound interruptions. The power car and control car can be coupled together via a current-conducting close-coupling mechanism. The lighting functions of both vehicles, including the lamps above the driver's cabs, can be switched separately. Despite the design of the power car and control car, a clear view through the passenger compartments is possible. For an optimal sound experience, the railcar comes equipped with a PIKO sound decoder including a speaker.Detailed, true-to-scale model for adult collectors. Handle with care. Not suitable for children under 14 years. It contains small parts which may pose a choking hazard, and some components have functional sharp points.
Only a toy transformer manufactured according to VDE 0570-2-7/DIN EN 61558-2-7 may be used as a power source to operate this product.
