Model Details
With the 1600 TL, Volkswagen made an elegant attempt in 1965 to make the staid Type 3 more trendy. The familiar "touring sedan" became a mere "sad solution." Too much Beetle rear-wheel drive was hidden beneath the TL's sleek hatchback body. The 1600 TL was well-made in typical Volkswagen style, but it was far from sporty.Technical Details
Body: Agate gray. Chassis: aluminum silver. Interior: traffic gray. Red rims with silver boss caps and whitewall printing. Orange front indicators, silver-plated front VW logo. Silver-printed door handles and side trim. Silver "VW 1600 TL" lettering and red painted taillights are featured on the rear.Caution!
