Prototype Information
WIKING recognized Opel's offensive early on and dedicated a model to the first-generation Opel Senator. This Senator "A1," along with its Monza coupé version, was presented at the IAA (Frankfurt Motor Show) in September 1977 and went into series production in February 1978. Given its apparent ambition to project an upper-class image, the amazement of the show's visitors was considerable, as Opel had finally caught up with the big names from Rüsselsheim, such as the Kapitän and Admiral. WIKING followed suit in 1980, presenting both the Opel Senator and the Monza coupé version. With its revitalized molds, the red Senator appears as elegant as its original counterpart.
Model Details
Upper and lower body sections in carmine red. Interior in iron gray. Chassis with intermediate section in black-gray. Radiator grille, Opel logo, and headlights are silvered. Turn signals are printed in orange. Window frames silvered, B and C mullions and door handles printed in black.Detailed scale model for adult collectors. Handle with care. Not suitable for children under 14 years. It contains small parts which may pose a choking hazard, and some components have functional sharp points.
