Prototype Information
A subtle contrast is perfectly acceptable: WIKING has miniaturized the DKW 1000 coupé in a glossy ivory beige paint finish with a white roof. Color choices like this were popular at the time and frequently appeared on the order list for the two-stroke engine. From 1958 to 1963, Auto Union produced over 171,000 sedans of the Auto Union 1000 type, including the coupé variant. WIKING only offered the DKW coupé from 1960 to 1964. Given its aesthetically pleasing model, it certainly deserved a longer run. This is now being rectified with the two-tone design.
Model Details
Ivory beige body with a white printed roof in a clear coat finish, silver chassis with bumpers. The radiator grille with Audi rings, as well as the rear hood handle with Audi rings and the "1000" model designation, fuel filler cap, and trunk hinges are silvered. Side door handles and trim are printed in silver. Rear taillights are red. Hand-painted silver rims with whitewall printing on the tires. Headlights are hand-silvered.Detailed, true-to-scale model for adult collectors. Handle with care. Not suitable for children under 14 years. It contains small parts which may pose a choking hazard, and some components have functional sharp points.
Only a toy transformer manufactured according to VDE 0570-2-7/DIN EN 61558-2-7 may be used as a power source to operate this product.
