WIKING 024301 - Cooper racing car - black/blue
Model Information
It was the idea of WIKING founder Fritz Peltzer in the 1960s to follow the trend of Formula 1 and Formula 2 racing series. The Cooper T45, built in 1958 by the Cooper Car Company in both Formula 2 and Formula 1 versions, was intended to make history as a model. At WIKING, however, it found many young enthusiasts. Cooper once built 24 Formula 2 cars of the T45 type. At the same time, the compact racing cars were used in their own factory team. In 1959, Jack Brabham even fielded a pair of T45s in Formula 2. Rob Walker and the British Racing Partnership also wanted to compete in the racing series and equipped their T45s with Borgward engines featuring Bosch fuel injection. Stirling Moss even won the French Formula 2 Championship with the Rob Walker T45. Furthermore, the T45 competed in Formula 1 on many other racetracks.
