Prototype Information
In the early 1970s, MAN chassis were a rarity in German fire stations. Naturally, exceptions included those locations loyal to MAN because they housed production facilities of the renowned truck manufacturer. These stations used forward-control chassis to be fitted with turntable ladder bodies by Metz in Karlsruhe. Over the years, WIKING enthusiasts had repeatedly expressed this obvious desire for a model of this combination of forward-control chassis and turntable ladder body; now it's becoming a reality.
Model Details
Cab red with matching base and blue-transparent inserted warning lights. Chassis with driveshaft section black, rims silver. Interior black. Front bumper headlights silver, bumper printed white. Black radiator grille with silver trim frame and silver lettering and logos "MAN", Büssing lion, and "Diesel". Turntable ladder superstructure and base in red. Multi-part turntable ladder in anthracite gray. Hose reel with red side panels and black-gray hose reel. Cab front with white "Fire Department" lettering. White "Fire Department" lettering on the side above the rear wheel arches.Detailed scale model for adult collectors. Handle with care. Not suitable for children under 14 years. It contains small parts which may pose a choking hazard, and some components have functional sharp points.
