Prototype Information
In the 1950s, it was the heart of all large fire brigades: the Magirus round-hooded fire engine, delivered as the LF 16, had everything a crew needed at the time. The standard Ulm fire engine transported personnel and equipment to the scene of the incident. Therefore, it is striking how the two-part design of the model accurately reflects this fact. Above all, the long crew cab for the nine-person crew makes this characterful fire engine so impressive – in addition to the extension ladder sections and sliding ladder on the roof and the hose reel mounted at the rear. The cab features a corresponding interior with rear bench seats facing each other. Also new is the angular, box-shaped body compared to the familiar TLF 16, with roof rails and the prototypical engravings for the side and rear equipment compartments. The standard-compliant equipment, including a four-section extension ladder and a three-section sliding ladder, is integrated into the roof structure – the hose reel is mounted at the rear.
Model Details
Cab and body are carmine red, roof section with ladders and interior fittings with steering wheel are fawn brown. Step entry is silver. Mounting plate and bracket are black. Warning lights are inserted in transparent blue. Red hood with matching radiator grille and silvered trim, as well as the Magirus logo. White front and rear fenders. Side trim strips and bumper are silvered. Chassis, including driveshaft, as well as guide poles, side mirrors, and searchlights are black. Searchlights are hand-silvered. Rims are black. Rear hose reel is red. Side cab markings include the white and black emergency number 112.Detailed, true-to-scale model for adult collectors. Handle with care. Not suitable for children under 14 years. It contains small parts that may pose a choking hazard, and some components have functional sharp points.
