Never say never: This saying, often used in song lyrics and film titles, also applies to aviation. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the world into its homes, and airlines, in their fight for survival, decided to mothball or completely retire the A380 superjumbo, British Airways was one of the operators of this type, retiring the Boeing 747 earlier than planned but planning to return its fleet of twelve A380s to service as soon as possible. Since 2021, all superjumbos have gradually returned to service, including G-XLEF, the sixth A380, originally delivered to British Airways in 2014. This new edition features several improvements over the last production run: the two satellite domes on the fuselage have been added, as well as some additional prints, such as the static ports on the fuselage sides, and the maintenance instructions and the Rolls-Royce logo on the four engines.
