Model Details
It was the dream car of many 18-year-olds of the baby boomer generation getting their driver's license. The Golf I GTI had what people wanted back then: a compact, attractive car like the Golf and a machine that could certainly rev. The GTIs certainly stood out given their limited color palette. The lemon yellow that WIKING chose this time certainly looks special, but the bright colors were a given for the first Golf GTI generation. The traditional model makers have faithfully recreated the exterior in 1:87 scale. The radiator grille bears the fine, silver GTI lettering and is surrounded by a red frame. Furthermore, the black decorative stripes, window surrounds, and door handles are also reproduced, as is the "Golf GTI" lettering on the rear. WIKING has transformed the first-generation Golf GTI into a model gem that is reminiscent of the Wolfsburg original. The 110 hp engine made the Golf more nimble than any other production compact car up to that point.Technical Details
