Model details
This is how it was known from farm use – the green paint showed impressive signs of everyday wear. And this is how WIKING designed the legendary Deutz D 40 L this time as well. The iridescent design was created by adding two color granules, which now make each tractor unique. At the end of the 1950s, WIKING founder Fritz Peltzer deliberately chose the Deutz D 40 L – its size was convincing as a model, even when miniaturized to a scale of approximately 1:90. Peltzer had wanted a "large tractor." At the time, it was one of the most powerful Deutz tractors to roll off the assembly line at the Cologne tractor factory. Of course, large tractors were clearly in the minority in the 1960s. This is also the reason why this mighty prototype is rarely seen at historic agricultural machinery events today.Technical Details
Upper section, axle mount, seat, floor section, and engine block in a green/oxide red iridescent design. Black insertable steering wheel. Rims in traffic red. Side trim and Deutz lettering in honey yellow. Silver-plated front headlights, red-printed rear headlights.Caution!
