WIKING 088011 - Lanz Bulldog - basalt greyPrototype InformationThe fine gold Lanz lettering on a red background on the front certainly hints at the self-confidence of the Mannheim tractor manufacturer. The basalt-gray Lanz Bulldog appears in its authentic WIKING style, just as it once entered the 1:87 scale program as an early classic. The D1506 with 55 hp served as the prototype. Externally, the large Bulldogs with 10.3 liters of displacement are indistinguishable, as the number of cooling elements (four in the 10.3-liter engines, three in the "smaller" 4.7-liter Bulldogs) allows for unmistakable identification of the series. WIKING 088204 - Lanz D 2016 - burgundy violetPrototype InformationIt was the last major tractor series from the Mannheim tractor manufacturer. The Lanz D 2016 originated from the HE series of Heinrich Lanz AG and was first presented at the DLG exhibition in Munich in 1955. Produced until 1960, the D 2016 belongs to the last generation of Lanz tractors and was considered a full diesel because this version did not use gasoline injection during the starting process. With the takeover by John Deere in 1958, the delivered color changed from blue to green. WIKING 039703 - Case International 1455 XLPrototype InformationAttractive tractor combinations from the 1990s are guaranteed when WIKING adds the Case International 1455 XL to its product line. Many of the real-life tractors are still in everyday use today and enjoy a devoted fan base. Their farmers don't want to part with the classic that has served them so reliably for decades. The Case 1455 XL was once the largest tractor built by International Harvester. It was IHC's answer to the changing demands of German agriculture, which required more horsepower and therefore larger and more powerful tractors. The last 1455 XL was built on December 20, 1996. This made it the last tractor worldwide designed by International Harvester and still being built eleven years after the merger with Case. WIKING 087503 - Schlüter Super 1250 VL blackModel detailsThe number of fans remains huge to this day – the red Schlüter tractors are legendary. Especially when they are exceptionally black, as WIKING is now presenting the Schlüter Super 1250 VL. Although production at the headquarters in Freising ended in 1993 after more than 45,000 tractors had been produced, the story of the powerful Schlüter tractors is by no means over. The model designation within the powerful "Super" series was easy to explain: The "1250" stood for the 125 hp six-cylinder engine, the "V" for all-wheel drive, and the "L" for the extended version – recognizable by the vertical ventilation area on the side hood. Thus, when series production began in the summer of 1972, the Super 1250 VL weighed in at 5.2 tons. Schlüter continually updated it over the years, before the last Super 1250 VL left the factory in the summer of 1991, and in the "special" version in June 1993. Known as the "Schlüter Traktomobil," the accompanying full-view driver's cab quickly became popular in the agricultural sector because of its wide doors, which allowed for convenient entry from the side. The innovative hatchback design also allowed the driver unhindered operation of attached agricultural machinery. This made the model for the WIKING miniature model ahead of its time: the cab was the first to feature sliding doors. WIKING 088104 - Deutz D 40 LModel detailsThis is how it was known from farm use – the green paint showed impressive signs of everyday wear. And this is how WIKING designed the legendary Deutz D 40 L this time as well. The iridescent design was created by adding two color granules, which now make each tractor unique. At the end of the 1950s, WIKING founder Fritz Peltzer deliberately chose the Deutz D 40 L – its size was convincing as a model, even when miniaturized to a scale of approximately 1:90. Peltzer had wanted a "large tractor." At the time, it was one of the most powerful Deutz tractors to roll off the assembly line at the Cologne tractor factory. Of course, large tractors were clearly in the minority in the 1960s.
