LGB L24268 - Steam locomotive 798.101 of the SWEG
LGB L24268 - Steam locomotive 798.101 of the SWEG

LGB L24268 - Steam locomotive 798.101 of the SWEGModel DetailsOn the romantic Jagsttalbahn railway in Baden-Württemberg, many rare vehicles have graced its tracks over its long 125-year history. Among them was a small but exquisite steam locomotive affectionately nicknamed "Nicki S." Its story reads like a fairy tale with an unusual happy ending. This narrow-gauge tender locomotive was "born" during the extremely turbulent times of the Second World War. In 1941, Henschel delivered the locomotive, then simply designated HF 110 C 25982, to the German Wehrmacht. In 1948, it was taken over by the Austrian Federal Railways as 798.101, but only remained in service until 1952. From then on, the steam engine awaited either the scrap yard or a prince to save it from its sad fate. He finally arrived in the form of Bielefeld businessman Walter Seidensticker, who acquired locomotive 798.101 and, after extensive restoration, brought it back to its former glory. Its proud owner was so delighted with his new, handsome locomotive that he named it "Nicki S." after his daughter. From 1984 onwards, it charmed visitors from near and far in the lovely Jagst Valley between Möckmühl and Dörzbach. When operations there ceased, Seidensticker moved his "Nicki" to his home near the Mühlenstroth steam railway, where it can still be admired today as "Nicki and Frank S." Unfortunately, it cannot travel to the anniversary celebrations in the Jagst Valley, as it no longer runs on 750 mm gauge but has been converted to 600 mm. However, its sister locomotive, 99 4652, will come to Dörzbach, reminding everyone of the time when an HF 110 C steamed through the picturesque valley. And on the LGB layout, the Jagsttalbahn's 125th anniversary can be celebrated in style with both models.Model of the SWEG's narrow-gauge tender steam locomotive 798.101 for the Jagsttalbahn's 125th anniversary. Paint scheme and lettering from Era IV, as the engine operated in the Jagsttal in the 1980s. Each locomotive and tender features a powerful, ball-bearing Bühler motor. LGB L24602 - RhB Ge 4/6 electric locomotive
LGB L24602 - RhB Ge 4/6 electric locomotive

LGB L24602 - RhB Ge 4/6 electric locomotiveModel DetailsAs early as 1900, the RhB (Rhaetian Railway) began considering the electrification of its lines. Given that electric operation was still in its infancy at the time, the planned line from Bever to Scuol in the Engadine was designated as a test track. Several locomotives of the Ge 4/6 series were ordered and delivered between 1912 and 1914. Locomotives 351 to 355, supplied by SLM and MFO, proved particularly successful, meeting all requirements with their 560 kW output and a top speed of 55 km/h. Originally painted green, the locomotives were repainted between 1920 and 1923 in the brown color still used for the older locomotives today. The locomotives were actually intended to be retired after the delivery of the Ge 4/4 I, but this was not possible due to the increase in traffic during the 1950s and 1960s. The locomotives were partially modernized and remained in service until the 1970s.Model of the RhB Ge 4/6 electric locomotive number 355 in Era I. LGB L24743 - Spreewald steam locomotive of the DEV
LGB L24743 - Spreewald steam locomotive of the DEV

LGB L24743 - Spreewald steam locomotive of the DEVModel DetailsIt is certainly one of the most beautiful narrow-gauge steam locomotives in Germany. We are talking about the "Spreewald," a 109-year-old vintage locomotive that today steams through the charming landscape as a little gem on the First German Museum Railway at the German Railway Association (DEV) in Bruchhausen-Vilsen. Among the many impeccably maintained vintage vehicles of the DEV, the "Spreewald" can certainly tell the most exciting story. In 1917, it saw the light of day, along with four sister locomotives, at the Jung locomotive factory in Jungenthal on the Sieg River. The first home line of these nimble 40 km/h locomotives, equipped with three driving axles and a leading axle, lay in the dark forests of East Prussia on the Pillkaller Kleinbahn (Pillkall Light Railway) on the border with the Russian Empire. In the autumn of 1944, the light railway workers took some of their relatively new locomotives westward shortly before the Red Army advanced. One locomotive eventually ended up with the Spreewald Railway and was given the number 99 5633 by the Reichsbahn (East German State Railway). After its home line was closed, the locomotive was allowed to leave East Germany in 1971 and found a new home with the DEV (German Railway Association). The "Spreewald" first appeared in the LGB (Long-Time Railway) range in 1988. Since then, it has been one of the most popular garden railway models. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the DEV museum railway, LGB is re-releasing this classic – a fitting tribute to a narrow-gauge steam locomotive with a rich history. This model depicts the Spreewald steam locomotive of the DEV (German Railway Association) as it is currently in service on the museum railway from Bruchhausen-Vilsen to Asendorf. It features authentic paintwork and lettering from Era VI with a revision date of February 25, 2021. Equipped with a powerful, ball-bearing Bühler motor and traction tires. Built-in mfx/DCC decoder with numerous sound and light functions, switchable in digital operation, as is the built-in smoke generator. Energy storage unit is included as standard. LGB L26660 - Railcar FZe 6/6 Era VI

LGB L26660 - Railcar FZe 6/6 Era VIModel DetailsMOB baggage railcar FZe 6/6 in metal construction. In the 1930s, suitable locomotives for the steep lines of the MOB were sought for the "Golden Mountain Pullman Express," which was to be operated by the CIWL. It was decided to acquire two electric railcars with baggage compartments. They had a power output of more than 1100 hp and were manufactured by SIG/BBC. In 1932/1933, the two vehicles were incorporated into the MOB's fleet under the class designation FZe 6/6 with the operating numbers 2001 and 2002. These six-axle Bo'Bo'Bo' railcars have a length over buffers of 17 meters and a top speed of 60 km/h. At the time, they were among the most powerful electric locomotives operating on meter gauge tracks in the world! The two electric railcars were originally intended to haul luxury trains, but were rarely used for this purpose, as demand for luxury trains plummeted following the Great Depression around 1930. Consequently, the MOB (Montreux-Oberland Bernois Railway) used the two railcars for freight service. Over the years, the two vehicles underwent several reclassifications and modifications. They proved particularly useful during the construction of the Hongrin Dam in the late 1960s, transporting the necessary cement from Montreux to Allières. In the late 1970s, locomotive number 2002 underwent a major overhaul due to fire damage. By the mid-1990s, the engine was taken out of service due to insufficient wheel tread depth. In 2008, car number 2002 was incorporated into the BC (Blonay-Chamby Museum Railway) and had been reactivated using parts from the 2001 engine. The articulated railcar 2002 now runs on the Blonay – Chamby museum railway. A high-end model of this articulated railcar is now being produced in 1:22.5 scale, made of metal. As is already customary with our other high-end models, the FZe 6/6 is rendered with a very high level of detail. The paint scheme and livery of the MOB (now the Blonay – Chamby museum railway) FZe 6/6 2002 are reproduced in its current operating condition. The pantographs and roof-mounted equipment are also authentically depicted in the current museum setting. An mfx/DCC sound decoder with various light and sound functions, such as Swiss headlight configuration, cab and interior lighting, digitally raised and lowered pantographs, and much more, ensures high play value when operating this 76 cm long model, which can also easily negotiate radius R1 curves.Detailed, true-to-scale model for adult collectors. LGB L30142 - Passenger car MD 3 Jagsttalbahn
LGB L30142 - Passenger car MD 3 Jagsttalbahn

LGB L30142 - Passenger car MD 3 JagsttalbahnModel DetailsTravel Like in Grandma's TimeThe year is 1960. It was a time when the modern German Federal Railway (DB) had long since embarked on a new era. But in the Swabian Bottwartal valley, there was still a narrow-gauge railway where the DB used its last two-axle wooden boxcars from the time of the Royal Württemberg State Railways in everyday service. They offered journeys like in grandma's time, at a leisurely pace, while at the same time TEE trains sped through the countryside at 160 km/h. This came to an end in 1966, and the ancient wooden-class vintage cars were destined for the scrap heap. But then, in 1967, long-discontinued passenger service for transporting schoolchildren was reinstated on the nearby Jagsttalbahn railway. SWEG, the operator of the line, sought cost-effective rolling stock and acquired four Bottwartalbahn carriages from the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn), designated MD 1, 2, 3, and 4. These school trains ran until 1979, and young people repeatedly enjoyed the unique experience of traveling on these carriages with their wooden benches and open platforms. From 1971 onward, these Württemberg carriages also formed the basis for the highly successful heritage train service on the scenic and 39-kilometer-long Jagsttalbahn. Carriage MD 3 remained in service until the line's closure. It is currently located in Dörzbach, awaiting restoration. It is a true gem, as this two-axle carriage, commissioned in 1924, is the last fully preserved example of this most common type of Württemberg 750 mm narrow-gauge passenger carriage. And the new LGB model perfectly commemorates (with the 798.101 tender locomotive) the fascinating 125-year history of the Jagsttalbahn. Model of passenger car MD 3 for the 125th anniversary of the Jagsttalbahn in moss green livery, as this car ran on the Jagsttalbahn, operated by SWEG, in the 1980s. Operating condition circa 1983. Car with metal wheelsets. Suitable for locomotives L24268 and L33205. Detailed, true-to-scale model for adult collectors. Handle with care. Not suitable for children under 14 years. LGB L33205 - Passenger car no. 116 Jagsttalbahn

LGB L33205 - Passenger car no. 116 JagsttalbahnModel DetailsAn Old Swiss Visit to Götz von BerlichingenOnce upon a time, there was a German imperial knight to whom Johann Wolfgang von Goethe attributed the famously infamous "Swabian greeting" with its legendary threat of exposure. His name was Götz von Berlichingen, and he lived in the castle of the same name in the Jagst Valley in Hohenlohe. Centuries later, this charming region made history again when, in 1971, a historic steam train service was established on the narrow-gauge Jagst Valley Railway, which had opened in 1901. It proved so popular that the few remaining passenger cars were no longer sufficient. Therefore, a search was undertaken for suitable vintage vehicles, and what was found in Switzerland was discovered. In 1982, four very old passenger cars were acquired from the St. Gallen-Gais-Appenzell-Altstätten Railway (SGA). A particular gem was carriage number 116, built in 1904, which was still largely in its original condition. After the track gauge was converted from 1000 mm to 750 mm, this vintage carriage joined the diverse rolling stock of the Jagst Valley Railway in 1984. With its handsome red and white livery, it added stylish splashes of color to the tracks, especially when paired with the green, red, and black steam locomotive 798.101 ("Nicki S."). The town of Dörzbach also demonstrated its connection to the railway by displaying its coat of arms on the carriage's sides. Currently, this quaint carriage awaits restoration. However, the new LGB model offers a miniature glimpse of how the full-size original can shine in new splendor for the railway's next major anniversary. Passenger carriage no. 116, municipality of Dörzbach, of the Jagst Valley Railway. Carriage in red and white livery as it ran on the Jagsttalbahn railway in the 1980s. LGB L44925 - RhB Double Stake Wagon

LGB L44925 - RhB Double Stake WagonModel DetailsThese flatcars with heavy double stanchions are a common sight in the freight trains of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB). They are primarily used to transport heavy loads such as logs, steel beams, or pipes. Built in the 1990s, these cars have a length over buffers of 16.54 meters, weigh 17.6 tons empty, and can be loaded with 22 to 42 tons, depending on the train type. Separate end walls are available for special cases. These can be inserted into the stanchion holders on the buffer beams to secure the load at the front and rear. This is very often done when loading heavy pipes with a large diameter.Model of a double-stanchion wagon of the RhB type Sp-w. Authentic paint scheme and lettering of Era VI.
