PIKO 50802 - Steam locomotive/Sound Tr12 PKP III + PluX22 Dec.Model DetailsNew for 2026: Between 1897 and 1919, Austrian locomotive manufacturers delivered over 830 Class 170 locomotives for heavy freight service. Due to the outdated saturated steam technology, a superheated steam version with a shortened boiler and a single steam dome was developed for greater efficiency, while retaining the proven frame and running gear of the 170. Customers for the new locomotive included Czechoslovakia, Italy, and Poland, where these machines became highly significant as the Tr12 series. Poland initially ordered 82 locomotives from the Floridsdorf Locomotive Works (WLF) and two from the Wiener Neustadt Locomotive Works. Due to the high demand for powerful freight locomotives, the Tr12 series was subsequently also produced domestically. The Polish locomotives were equipped with larger superheaters, extended chimneys, Westinghouse air brakes, and modified cabs. The Tr12 locomotives remained in service primarily in southern Poland, where their good steam output and low axle load offered particular advantages. After 1945, only a few locomotives in operational condition were acquired by the Polish State Railways (PKP). A total of 39 Tr12 locomotives were returned to Polish service, and the last Tr12s were retired in 1969. The Polish Tr12 combined performance, ease of maintenance, and economy, marking the transition from saturated to superheated steam technology. It was a milestone in European locomotive construction and had a lasting impact on heavy freight transport in Poland. • Version with PKP cab and chimney • Separately attached air and feed pumps as well as generator of Polish design • Fine steps, handrails and many separate pipes • Metal wheelsets and delicate linkages • Sound version with factory-installed smoke generator • Realistic sound with many functions • Switchable cab lighting in digital operation • Brake hoses, protective tubes and coupling hooks for upgrades are includedDetailed scale model for adult collectors. PIKO 50764 - Steam locomotive TKt48 PKP IV + DSS PluX16Model DetailsNew for 2026: The TKt48 series tender locomotives of the Polish State Railways (PKP) were an important part of passenger and freight transport on the mountain lines of the Giant Mountains and the High Tatras between the 1950s and 1980s. The locomotives were built from 1950 to 1957 in the Fablok and Cegielski factories, with 191 units going to the PKP. Thanks to their high adhesive weight, the series became a true all-rounder in the mountains, and their top speed of 80 km/h in both directions revolutionized operations on branch lines. Due to declining traffic and the closure of many branch lines, the locomotives lost their area of operation and were withdrawn from service and scrapped by 1989. Over a dozen locomotives were fortunately spared and can still be admired as museum and heritage locomotives. Variant | Era IV version | With smoke deflectors | Die-cast zinc wheels | Fine brake linkage | Window inserts in the cab | Uncluttered interior with detailed cab fittingsDetailed scale model for adult collectors. PIKO 50800 - Steam locomotive Tr12 PKP III + DSS PluX22Model DetailsNew for 2026: Between 1897 and 1919, Austrian locomotive manufacturers delivered over 830 Class 170 locomotives for heavy freight service. • Version with PKP cab and chimney • Separately attached air and feed pumps as well as generator of Polish design • Fine steps, handrails and many separate pipes • Metal wheelsets and delicate linkages • Sound version with factory-installed smoke generator • In digital operation with switchable cab lighting • Brake hoses, protective tubes and coupling hooks for upgrades are includedDetailed scale model for adult collectors.
