BUSCH 210008901 - MH:Berliner Roller/Schwalbe, Yellow/GreenBerliner Roller The "Berliner Roller," produced by the VEB Industriewerk Ludwigsfelde from 1959 to 1963, is not commonly known under its regular designation IWL SR59 Berlin. With 114,000 models produced, it is the top model and thus the most-produced scooter in the GDR. The 150 cc, 7.5 hp, air-cooled, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine accelerated the scooter to a maximum of 82 km/h, with fuel consumption of 3.2 liters per 100 km. Today, the Berliner Roller is an absolute cult object. Schwalbe High-flyer! A whopping one million units of the "Schwalbe" moped (exact designation KR51) left the Simson production plant in Suhl, Thuringia, between 1964 and 1986. During the GDR era, the vehicle could be found throughout the Eastern Bloc, and since reunification in 1990, the wave of enthusiasm has spread throughout Germany. One of the reasons is likely that it was one of the few mopeds in the Federal Republic of Germany that was permitted to reach 60 km/h. The displacement of the air-cooled, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine is 50 cc and produces 3.4 hp. The Schwalbe is also considered a cult vehicle today. Perhaps also because anyone with a wrench can carry out any necessary repairs themselves. BUSCH 40006 - Benz Patent Motor Car with Advertising ColumnCarl Benz, born on November 25, 1844, in Karlsruhe, was able to set up his own small mechanical workshop in Mannheim in 1872, thanks to the support of his father-in-law. In this "tinkerer's workshop," he initially developed an internal combustion engine that could be powered by petroleum (a gas mixture) instead of gas. With the help of interested investors, production of the two-stroke "System Benz" engine began in 1881. As early as 1885, the first three-wheeled motor vehicle powered by a four-stroke internal combustion engine was built. The gas-powered vehicle was patented by the Imperial Patent Office on January 29, 1886, with the number 37435. Carl Benz in Mannheim, Gottlieb Daimler, and Wilhelm Maybach in Cannstatt, implemented their ideas on the drawing board. Prototypes were created in the workshops, which were continually tested and improved. Carl Benz paid particular attention to the ignition of his single-cylinder engine. The Benz spark plugs of 1886 already met the standards in design and material that were valid until the 1930s. Between 1886 and 1894, approximately 25 examples of a further development of the Patent Motor Car were sold. The price was 3,000 marks. Technical Data Engine: Four-stroke single-cylinder, evaporative cooling, sliding intake valve, vertical exhaust valve, Benz surface carburetor, drip-feed lubrication, buzzer ignition. Bore x Stroke: 91.4 x 150.0 mm Displacement 984 cm3 Power: 0.66 kW (0.9 hp) at 400 rpm. Power transmission: Via leather belt, stepped pulley, differential and chains. This delicate, highly detailed miniature version depicts the first mechanical means of transport with remarkable features: - Wheels with superfine spokes - Superfine printing - Delicate body, over 23 individual parts - The model with Bertha Benz commemorates the journey of Carl's wife, who drove from Mannheim to Pforzheim in 1888 without her husband's knowledge. BUSCH 40204 - BMW 327 Coupé, grayBMW 327 Sporty elegance and unmistakable design. A vehicle that couldn't be more harmonious in color and shape. The two-seater coupé and convertible with its "distinctly sporty touch" was announced in a press release dated November 12, 1937, although it wouldn't be available before May 1938. The shortage of raw materials before the outbreak of the war was already making itself felt, and so this news seemed very premature. The new 327, with its narrow emergency bench seat in the rear, replaced its predecessor, the BMW 326, with its newly conceived sporty design. The 327 series, like all BMW models, was produced in Eisenach (East Germany) until 1945, where this beautiful model celebrated its resurrection after the war, first as a BMW and then, from 1952, as the EMW 327/2 (convertible) or 327/3 (coupe). The model of this beautifully designed classic car appears in a true-to-scale, highly polished appearance with intricate detailing and the finest chrome plating, reflecting the splendor of a bygone era. The models from the CMD Collection impress with their numerous small printed details, such as the BMW logos on all hubcaps, as well as super-fine trim strips and door handles. BUSCH 40289 - EMW 327 Cabriolet, GreyElegant convertible from the Eisenach vehicle factory, founded on December 3, 1896, by industrialist Heinrich Ehrhardt. After many crises and various mergers, the factory lost its independence in 1928 and was renamed the BMW Eisenach branch. Since the body of the 327 was largely built in Eisenach, this beautiful model celebrated its resurrection after the war as the EMW 327/2, albeit in a stripped-down version and with less than 80 hp. This true-to-original model impresses not only with its elaborately printed chrome trim around the windshield but also with the superfine printing of the trim strips, door handles, and the red/white EMW logos on the hood. BUSCH 43109 - Borgward Isabella Coupé, GreenIn 1921, engineer Carl Friedrich W. Borgward, born in 1890, started his own business by taking over the Bremen radiator factory. Just three years later, he built his first car, a small three-wheeled truck. In 1931, he took over the Hansa-Lloyd works, which built trucks and armored vehicles during the Second World War. Shortly after the end of the war, in 1949, Borgward presented the Hansa 1500, the first German car with a pontoon body. With the Borgward model "Isabella," released in 1954 and designed by the company founder himself, the Bremen Borgward works consistently continued the proven pontoon line. The most beautiful body variant is considered to be the Isabella Coupé, available from 1957. This was not actually a variant, but a new development and thus a new car. From mid-1958, two visible details were changed compared to the first edition: the Borgward diamond in the radiator was smaller, and the Borgward lettering on the front fenders was "slid" forward. The Isabella Coupé became the pinnacle of the Borgward image, a car myth, and the only truly successful attempt to break into the luxury class. A novelty was that Borgward fulfilled all optional extras, even those not listed on the price list. Among the bizarre, but official, extras were the attached tail fins and the electric steel sliding roof. With a base price of 10,925 DM initially and later 11,725 DM, the target audience was well-off men and women. A hefty price for a rolling luxury item with only two full-size seats, claimed the critics. But this did not diminish its popularity. With just under 10,000 units produced, the Isabella Coupé is still a sought-after collector's item today, significantly rarer than, say, a Mercedes 190 SL, of which 26,000 were produced. Initially, one had to pay 15,600 DM for this beautiful convertible, and later even 17,000 DM – it was arguably one of Carl FW Borgward's most successful creations. This convertible was one of the few German automobiles that reflected the spirit of the times and the aspirations of the 1950s. The 1:87 scale model, with its 30 individual parts, is one of the most elaborately constructed, but also perfectly formed miniatures, like its original from 1958. The body alone consists of three parts: the lower section with fenders and doors; The upper section includes the hood and trunk, and the roof includes the B- and C-pillars. The interior, with its seating section and separate dashboard, is split into two parts. The steering wheel is a color-contrasting insert. The 16 characteristic chrome parts are all individually mounted or inserted. These include the decorative strips on the sides and hood, the front and rear turn signals, the headlights, and the two windshield wipers. The radiator grille, bumpers, and rims are also individual chrome parts. The "Borgward" logo is finely printed on the front fenders. In addition to its technical refinements, what is truly special about this model is that it perfectly captures the style and charm of the original, allowing every collector to capture the atmosphere of automobile manufacturing in the 1960s. Just like the larger models, the miniatures are available in the original single-color paint scheme as well as in contrasting two-color paint schemes. The American dream car of the Series 62 with the large "V" (standing for the V8 engine) on the hood was offered in four different versions: coupe (two-door), sedan (four-door), convertible and hardtop, as well as the station wagon. All models were huge sales successes for the "Henry Ford Company," founded at the turn of the century by Henry Ford and Henry M. Leland. H. Ford (then technical director) probably couldn't have dreamed of this when he left the company just a short time later. Leland named his company, which he now owned solely, the "Cadillac Automobile Company," loosely after Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the French-born founder of Detroit. As early as 1909, the company became a member of the new General Motors group for $4.5 million in cash. BUSCH 44451 - Bentley Series III Convertible, Metallic SilverRolls-Royce Silver Cloud – a "silver cloud" in the automotive sky. Founded in 1906 as Rolls-Royce Limited, the company was financially troubled when it was acquired by the British car manufacturer Bentley in 1931 after only 25 years of independence. From then on, production was merged, and both car brands continued to be sold under different names. After the end of the war, the first Rolls-Royce to appear was the Silver Cloud series, a further development of its predecessor, the Silver Dawn, which was largely in the hands of JP Blatchley. The rigid frame consisted of a simple welded rectangular tube construction and, as was customary with Rolls-Royce, was separated from the body. This separation enabled the luxury manufacturer to realize various special bodies. The noble car was 5410 mm long and 1899 mm wide and weighed an impressive 1801-1914 kg. With the new 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine with 6,321 cm3, the Series II car reached 183 km/h (114 mph) and could even be ordered with power windows upon request. The Series II Bentley was identical to the Silver Cloud except for the radiator. Surprisingly, however, Bentley enjoyed greater success than the similarly constructed Rolls-Royce, so that by the end of the 1980s, more vehicles were delivered with Bentley emblems than with Rolls-Royce emblems. Ultimately, however, it is the shape and elegant appearance of this luxury car that captivates classic car enthusiasts. This 1:87 miniature of the Bentley shows the model in an absolute luxury version that will make collectors' hearts beat faster. BUSCH 45026 - Chevrolet Bel Air '57, yellowNothing ventured, nothing gained! The design of the '57 Bel Air dates back to 1953, when it was considered too "daring." Chevrolet pursued a rather cautious model policy in this matter. The predecessor models of the '55 and '56 do indeed appear rather staid compared to the more distinctive '57, but the basic lines were retained. The nickname "Bel Air" was already borne by the hardtop coupe of the Two-Ten series of the 1952 model year, which was then used a year later for its own series with serial number 2400C. Even at the time of its release, the Bel Air was considered Chevrolet's absolute top model. The Bel Air could be equipped with many extras such as air conditioning, power steering, servo pump, and automatic transmission, and from 1955 even with a V8 engine. In addition to the two- and four-door sedan, coupe, and station wagon, it was also available as a convertible with a fabric roof or as a hardtop. With this model, Chevrolet hit the mark when it came to the fashion tastes of the era. The '57 model with its fintail was particularly stylish and remains highly sought after by classic car enthusiasts today. The fact that the car also offered plenty of space and was very fuel-efficient resulted in the Bel-Air being sold at exactly 702,226 units. Since the base version of the fintail was priced between $2,239 and $3,465, the vehicle was also quite affordable compared to competing models. The 1:87 model of the Bel Air is also available in many variants, enriching the collector scene with beautiful, harmoniously colored miniatures.
