Märklin 030391 - Rheingold electric locomotive class E10.12Model DetailsThe E10 was the name of the electric locomotive with which the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn) embarked on its major leap forward in the early years of the economic miracle. Series production of this 140 km/h (87 mph) and 5000 hp locomotive began in 1956. Soon, hundreds of these reliable and elegant locomotives populated the DB (German Federal Railway) tracks. In 1965, Märklin launched a model of the E10 that, like the full-size prototype, shone with robustness and reliability. Excellent detailing combined with proven drive technology and a heavy die-cast body made the Märklin E10 a bestseller. However, at that time, they opted not to produce a model of the "creased" E10.3 or the blue and beige variants for 160 km/h (100 mph) operation on the new luxury trains "Rheingold" and "Rheinpfeil." Now, the long-cherished wish of many Märklin enthusiasts has come true: they have been yearning for a cobalt blue/beige retro "creased" version of the E10.12 series. Inside this fantastic new model, state-of-the-art technology is at work, while the exterior is characterized by its solid metal body, perfectly evoking the heyday of the German Federal Railway and the legendary metal models from Göppingen. Prototype: Class E10.12 "creased" electric locomotive of the German Federal Railway (DB). Cobalt blue/beige livery, as a Rheingold locomotive. Version with 5 headlights, continuous fan strip with rounded ends, continuous rain gutter, buffer cover, and skirt. Locomotive road number E10 1265. Operating condition circa 1962/63. Märklin 036702 - Diesel locomotive class 367Model DetailsPrototype: Diesel shunting locomotive of the fictional Class 367 of Deutsche Bahn Gleisbau GmbH (DBG). Private and industrial railways were extremely satisfied with the 55 DHG 700 locomotives delivered by Henschel in Kassel between 1973 and 1985, and still are after many decades of operation. Deutsche Bahn Gleisbau GmbH, which was suffering from an acute locomotive shortage in 2005/2006, also took note. The extremely robust DHG 700 locomotives had not been manufactured for 20 years. DBG, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG, was fortunate when an industrial railway ceased operations at that very moment, making six of these locomotives available. DBG seized the opportunity, acquired all six locomotives, and gave them a new purpose by using them in so-called Az service (work train service). Beforehand, the six new locomotives had to be integrated into the railway's numbering system. Since there was no locomotive of this type yet in the fleet of DB AG or any of its subsidiaries, the newcomers were classified as Class 367 and received the operating numbers 367 001-5 to 367 006-4. Model: Locomotive with digital decoder and special motor, as well as built-in sound electronics. One axle driven, traction tires. Märklin 037066 - Steam locomotive class 80Model DetailsOur "Eighties"There are Märklin locomotives that evoke strong emotions in many model railroaders. The powerful tender steam locomotive of the Class 80 is one of these small but exquisite Märklin icons. As early as the beginning of the 1950s, a replica of this powerful shunting locomotive, the legendary TM 800, entered the Märklin product range and thrilled model railroaders of all ages, especially due to its affordable price. Countless improved versions of the "Eighties" followed, eventually making it one of the most popular Märklin steam locomotives. This was certainly also due to the interesting prototype. When the Class 80 was delivered to the pre-war German State Railway (Reichsbahn) between 1927 and 1929 in 39 units as a standard shunting locomotive, it was a state-of-the-art and very powerful type of locomotive. Although the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn) retired the last examples of this over 500 hp three-coupled locomotive as early as 1964, numerous locomotives found grateful buyers at industrial railways in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. There, the last examples could be admired until the end of the steam locomotive era in the 1970s. Thus, many railway and model railway enthusiasts experienced the "eighties" live under steam. Seven locomotives still exist today, with 80 036 of the Dutch Veluwsche Stoomtrein currently undergoing restoration. It is scheduled to be back under steam in 2026. To coincide with this, Märklin presents this classic in a completely redesigned version. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and an unobstructed view through the cab, the new Class 80 will captivate many generations of young and old Märklin enthusiasts. Prototype: Class 80 tank locomotive of the German Federal Railway. Märklin 037825 - Diesel locomotive class 221Model Details221 126 – The Great V 200It was an icon on Germany's railways, embodying the heyday of the German Federal Railway (DB) like almost no other locomotive. We're talking about the legendary V 200, whose larger variant delivered a staggering 2,700 hp to the rails. Sixty examples of this powerful diesel engine left the Krauss-Maffei factory between 1962 and 1965 as the V 200.1 series. These robust locomotives soon became legendary – whether on the Black Forest Railway or the Allgäu Railway, on the Vogelfluglinie (Bird Flight Line) across the Fehmarn Sound Bridge, hauling express trains on the Hamburg-Osnabrück line, and finally in heavy mining traffic around the Ruhr region. Numerous examples are still in service today with private railway companies – some even sporting the original red, black, and gray DB livery with the famous "V" on the front. The 221, as the locomotive was later designated by the DB (German Federal Railway), embodies one of the most important chapters in German railway history and is therefore an absolute must-have for every model railroader (Märklin enthusiasts). Märklin 038350 - Electric locomotive Ae 3/5Model DetailsAe 3/5 - The Little SécheronIt's a name that immediately evokes a special aura. However, the "little Sécheron" isn't a Picasso painting, but rather the almost affectionate nickname for a Swiss locomotive that was meant to usher in a new era on the rails for the Swiss Confederation. Electric traction throughout the country was the guiding principle after the First World War. Single-frame designs with individual axle drive were the magic formula for the electric future on the flatland lines of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). Built from 1922 onwards, the Ae 3/5, with its three driving axles and two trailing axles, looked unusually compact, yet delivered an impressive 1800 horsepower for its time. And its minimalist design also exuded an unusual elegance. Thus, the Ae 3/5 soon acquired its nickname – in reference to the Geneva-based company Sécheron, which supplied the electrical components. The Ae 3/5 10217 has been preserved as a working gem in the Olten depot. This handsome locomotive served as the prototype for the beautiful new Märklin model of this locomotive type, which exudes a truly quaint charm even in 1:87 scale. Prototype: Ae 3/5 electric locomotive of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB/CFF/FFS). With end plates and a wrong-way signal above the upper headlight. Fir green livery with gray chassis. Locomotive road number 10217. Operating condition 2022. Model: With mfx+ digital decoder and extensive light and sound functions. Controlled high-efficiency propulsion with flywheel. One axle driven. Traction tires. Directional triple headlights and one white marker light (Swiss light change) operate conventionally; digitally switchable.
